PORNOGRAPHY: THE INTOXICATION OF THE MIND

Proverbs 6:20-29

Introduction: Pornography destroys the mind. Consider a teenaged boy who begins to view pornography at that young age. The allurement triggers his hormones that are already raging. He sees a countless number of woman and girls in various positions engaged in a wide variety of acts offering what he at the time can only imagine he was a party to. In time he meets a real woman with whom he desires to have a relationship. Only this time, the woman is a live person who has opinions and ideas. Now the guy begins to realize that this live person is not a life size sex toy. He does not understand why it is she is not meeting the bizarre sexual fantasies he had with the women he saw on the internet. She is not the bimbo he has come to believe that all women are. Unfortunately for him his mind is messed up and any sexual experience, even with a wife, will not be what it could have been, if he had not had this kind of intoxication. Now, he cannot relate to the woman as a person. He does not know how to demonstrate respect to her. He is void of any understanding about courtship and romance. I am amazed at the number of women who allow themselves to become objects and wonder why men treat them as objects.
